I recently had the motor control unit (MCU), part no. AP3968010, replaced because the machine wouldn't turn on (yes, it was plugged in!). Once the MCU has been replaced, does the washing machine need to re-programmed or re-set to clear out old codes? If so, how do I do that? My washer is less than 2 years old and I am so disappointed in it! They sure don't make them like they used to - they are now disposable - cheaper to buy a new one than to have the old one fixed!!

This machine should not need to be reprogrammed, but the problem you had looks more like a problem with the main control unit rather than the motor control unit. If you are still having problems check out the tech sheet that is inside the lower service panel or under the top.
