Unhappy no water on rinse cycle
Model Number: 110.26934690   Brand: Kenmore   Age: 5 - 10 years

Our washer would not fill with water on the rinse cycle, we called Sears, they wanted $300 to change timer, he told us to order a timer and fix it ourselves. We did and that didn't fix the problem, and several days later the machine won't agitate, it makes a loud clunking noise. What should be try next??

Regarding the water fill problem during the rinse I would recommend to check the water inlet valve. Check the coil responsible for the cold water for continuity.

Replace the water inlet valve if the coil is open.

Check for 120V coming to this coil when the timer calls for the rinse.
If there is no 120V then check the water temperature switch.

A loud clunking noise instead of the agitation most likely means a bad transmission (aka gear case).

- The part number for the water inlet valve AP3096174

- The part number for the water temperature switch AP3125989

- The part number for the transmission AP3096209
