Have replaced coupling on Washer. machine works great and goes through all cycles, discharges all water and the water pump is fine. Electric motor spins freely.

However, when machine goes to Agitate, makes a "clunking sound" ...
Could this be transmission??

Please advise - Thanks!

Very likely the problem is a bad transmission.

Thank you so much for your input. Do you think we should try the agitator repair kit first as it is cost effective??
