My agitator on my washing machine does not work. Therefore, the clothes do not seem to clean good. Every thing else works. I tried to rotate the agitaor manually, and it moves freely, and can pull it out all the way. It appears to me that the gears on the agitator are worn out. Appreciate any help fixing the problem.

There is an agitator spine in inside the agitator that you need to replace, only this spine is hard to take out. I suggest taking your agitator to an appliance repair shop they should have a tool to remove the spine and reinstall a new one. I normally encourage do-it-yourselfers but this spine will be hard to do without the tool. For do-it-yourself appliance help visit Appliance Repair Guide For All Major Home Appliances
