You need to test the lid switch by by-passing it to see if that is your problem.

Let us know what you find.

Good luck

Well, darn, was hoping Occam's Razon would work here.

The problem may be in your timer, here is the part

Replacement parts for ADMIRAL LNC6766A00 | AppliancePartsPros.com

given that it drains, which suggests that the motor, belt etc are ok.

Before you order the timer, if you decide to take a chance on it, I would take off the front and inspect the motor, the wiring connections to the motor and the pulley. I would also test for continuity between motor wiring and the timer.

If you cannot find anything, it is likely to be the timer, but cannot guarantee that will fix it.

Good luck, and let us know what you find.

Also, upon further reflection you should operate the machine with the front cover off and see if the motor is turning when it is supposed to be agitating.

If it is, then suspicion will shift from electric problems to the drive train, in which case a new machine may be in order
