It is a Kitchen Aid (not a Kenmore)This washer machine makes loud screech noises when running. I opened it up and there is thick black greese on the floor underneath the washer. Motor runs fine, but does this greese mean Transmission?

Yes, that grease means the transmission has a problem and will soon fail completely.
