When I set the load setting on "Small Load" the washer will go through the wash and 1st rinse but will not spin, or go to the 2nd rinse cycle. It seems like its continously trying drain after the 1st rinse, and after a few minutes the machine will just switch off.
When I set it on "Medium Load" it will complete the full cycle right up to the final spin.

Well, the problem is likely in either your water level switch or your timer. Since the water level switch is inexpensive and easy to replace, I would do that and see if it solves your problem.

I noticed that the tube that runs from the switch to the water level container on the tub had a bit of muck in it, and so cleaned it out and managed to test run the full cycle on the "Small Load" all the way. It seems that the pressure switch was not being triggered because of the blockage in the tube. Will be trying out a normal wash cycle and hopefully the problem would have been solved thru this simple and easy solution.
