I washed some really dirty rugs today (duh, not a great idea) and think I plugged the water vents/screens in the washing machine. I cannot figure out for the life of me how to open this washer. It has that special locking lid, so I'm timid to slam some piece of metal under there to open the top. Any help appreciated.

In order to help you better I need the complete model number of your washer. You can find it on the door frame.

the lid opens when its not in a spin cycle and it completes the cycle.did you try to unplug it and then plug back in ? maybe its stuck in the cycle. when all esle fails get your owners manual out and read it. when you use a washer the dirty water goes out the drain only so that would be drain hose.. does the water drain out if it does then its not clogged.did you try just a rinse cycle? is this model of washer the regular type or the new tall front loading type ? we need more model info so we can help more....hope this helps.
