Maytag lid latch assembly diagnosis
Model Number: SG1000 Brand: Maytag Age: More than 10 years
I've been informed by a former appliance repair person that the lid latch assembly needs replacement as the "L" appears when I start the washer - - and it will fill but not begin the wash cycle. The assembly #206598 is no longer available from the manufacturer, however I learned from appliance parts pro that items that go into the assembly are available separately - - as shown on the diagram panel #16(?). I'd like to learn how to diagnose which part is the problem so I can salvage the unit which otherwise runs perfectly.
