Hello,
I recently pick up an older Maytag washer and dry set for cheap. The seller told me the washer "walked" across the floor. I took the inner tub out before any use to clean everything out only to find the inner basket had rubbed all the way through from outer tub. I am assuming something is off balance in the transmission, I heard possibly some bearing but I have no idea what I am looking for.

Also the transmission shaft that connects to basket and goes through agitator does not seem to turn freely (not sure if it supposed to).

I know I already need a new basket and a couple gaskets, can anyone give me some insight on the rest? The cause of the wear through?

I forgot to mention the entire outer tub while fastened moves around inside the washer housing like it is on a spring. Moves like one of those spring animas at the park kids would ride. Is it supposed to do that or be solid?
