I need to replace the front and rear tub bearings on my washer. Do I need a special bearing tool to remove the bearing from the outer tub and if so where can I purchase it.

There are special tools you can use, do an internet search and you will find them, along with videos on how to do this.

Despite the videos this is not an easy job and you may want to consider replacing it. If you got 10+ years out of this model you are way ahead.
