My washing machine is not draining properly. I've managed to take the thing apart and disconnected the output hose from the drain pump. All the water that was backed up in the washing machine poured out, on the floor of course. My output hose seems clear. What could cause the lack of draining?

BTW, I'm just a pathetic mama that needs to get the laundry done. I have no experience, but I'm doing my best to learn and fix this problem.

I have a Maytag Centennial MVWC6ESWW0. I took it completely apart last night and put it back together. Today I ran a load and it seemed to drain all the way now... I didn't see any water back up into the tub like last the last load.

I ran one more load and found that my washer is adding water at the end of the spin cycle although the extra rinse is not turned on. This is what is causing the laundry to be wet, not the drain. I only discovered this because I happened to be child-free for about two seconds when the cycle ended. What part needs to be replaced?
