Model Number: LTE5243DQ Brand: Whirlpool Age: 1 - 5 years
I would like to change the lid switch on this model. It is easy to get the part but I would like to change it myself. Are there any special tools?

You should not need any special tools. Unscrew the panel above the lid, then use a screwdriver to pop out the two brass clips that hold the top down and take off the top. That should do it.
Let us know if you have any questions. Good luck
