GE washer tub does not spin with new clutch assembly, will agitate though. I replaced the clutch assembly when the it would not spin the tub(no clothes). When I tested it the tub would spin. Put a load of clothes in and it seemed to work ok up to the spin cycle. It would not spin with a load. Then I took the load out and tried the spin and it started up and as I let it run(longer than the first time with no load) and it started to slow down and stopped even though the clutch was still engaged and the motor was running. The tub turns ok by hand with the machine stopped and turns ok during the agitator (wash) cycle. What is wrong....oh and I double checked with the parts folks on the part I ordered and it is the right part. I need some help, please. :)

Hello. If the unit starts to spin, then slowly stops and the motor is still running, and the belt and clutch are good and new, it sounds like the transmission is bad and you will need to replace the transmission. This also would apply to it not spinning with loads in it. Hope this helps. Part number: AP2046402
