So I've had this washer a little over a year, purchased from sears. When I turn it on, it starts agitating and filling immediately instead of just filling and many times does not drain all the water out from the spin cycle so I have to redo it. I can't afford to pay someone to fix it, can anyone tell me how to?

One of your problems sounds like the timer, which is telling the motor to start when it should be starting. Change out the timer and that should fix one problem.

In terms of not draining completely, you need to operate it with the cabinet off the the lid switch jumpered so you can see what is happening during drain and spin. It may be something simple like a sock in the drain line or something messing with the pump.
