Model Number: MAH5500BWW Brand: Maytag Age: 5 - 10 years
Neptune front load model #MAH5500BWW sn:10781111ZD that keeps filling once started.
History: I noticed some water on my floor after washing. Ended being a slow drain where some water would spit out where the hose fit in the drain. Put the drain hose directly in the floor drain and cleared the other drain. Turned the water supplies (hot and cold) back on I then had a nF message during the cycle and the machine jumped to spin selection (from regular selection). Took off the hoses and cleaned the screens (which weren't that dirty). Now, when I start the machine the water continues to fill (and drain - still in the floor drain position - nothing is spilling out of the tub). Help. I did talk with a local appliance guy and he thought maybe a control switch or pressure switch. Any thoughts? Ads By Google Related Models |

First check to see that you have not caused a siphon effect by sticking the drain hose too far down the drain pipe, or by sealing off the drain hose so air is not getting into the drain pipe.

Brilliant! I actually had the hose just laying on the floor drain, so the machine must just do a gravity drain. Regardless, the machine was put back into position and drain hose returned its normal drain. Started the machine and it stopped filling at about the three minute mark.
