I need to change the pump on a Kenmore Model 110.24962301, top load washer. I used to do appliance repair, but have been out of the business for about 2 years. I know the old style had two screws in the lower corners, front side of the control panel, or in the rear. This model has no screws, but is still the Whirlpool design, direct drive, with removable cabinet. I'm doing this as a favor for a friend, but I am STUCK! Any help would be appreciated.

Some of those models have the screws hidden under a white clip that snaps off. If there is a smooth, white cover at the ends of the console it will snap off from the top, revealing the screws.

Yeah, I looked for that. It's not there. It's almost like the front snaps into place, but I don't want to break it.

Well that is weird. I have never seen one that did not have the two screws easily accessible.

The only other thing I can think of is to unscrew the metal cover at the back and maybe access it that way?

If that fails, can you post a picture, maybe someone can figure it out.
