Model Number: WJSR2080T2WW Brand: GE Age: More than 10 years
The timer knob on our washer became difficult to engage in a wash cycle and you had to press it very hard to get a random cycle to start. Now this no longer works and the knob just spins uselessly. I am wondering if the problem is with the knob or with the timer? The knob is off-centered as if something has broken, but I'm not sure where to start with the assessment. Any help would be appreciated!

My father-in-law took the washer apart and discovered that the plastic piece holding the timer in place on the one side with one screw had broken. He shored it up with a piece of metal and put things back together. The knob and timer are now working fine again. Cheap plastic strikes again...
