Error F71
Model Number: MHWE300VW12 Brand: Maytag Age: 1 - 5 years
Today when I tried to use the washer I got an error code of F71 and it would not start. It worked fine yesterday.

Do you recall any voltage problems ? The F71 error code indicates, USER INTERFACE HEARTBEAT FAILURE. If a Central Control Unit Heartbeat Failure is displayed, no communication is detected from the User Interface to the Central Control Unit. Possible Causes/Procedure 1. Check for continuity of the User Interface harness. 3. If the drum is not rotating, unplug the MCU from the CCU (the MI3 or M13 connector). If the code disappears, replace the MCU. If the code does not disappear, replace the CCU.2. Check wire harness connections to the User Interface and the Central Control Unit. 4. Replace User Interface if drum is rotating. You'll need to unplug the power cord and remove the top of the washer(3 screws across the top back panel) and check all the wires and connections to the control boards.. Good Luck,
