Failed with Heavy Load following Hurricane w/ flooded basement - 5-6 " Any FUSE or CKT Breaker that controls motor, spin agitate.
- Initially Dead, reset water level switch - now fills & timer working; water fills properly, hear timer motor - Need Help Diagnosing the problem (motor, lid switch, out-of-balance, motor thermal switch OTHER?

I think your motor is shot, and that you should replace it and check with your home owners insurance to see if the replacement is covered.

Good luck. Does it pay to replace motor - 10 years old? How can I check motor? any motor repair shops in 11581?

No, I would strongly recommend that you replace it. Good basic top loaders can be had for as little as $300 to $350.
