Washer stops intermitantly

Model Number: lsr8422dq0 Brand: Whirlpool Age: More than 10 years

My washing machine just stops sometimes in the middle of the wash. If I advance the timer 1 click it will sometimes re-start.

I have replaced the timer twice in the past 10 days.
