My washer will not go to the spin cycle. It washed the clothes and the water is still in the machine and will not drain

Its the switch that tells the washer that the lid is closed. If you open the lid, There should be a hole in the top panel, that a strike mounted to the lid hits when the lid is closed.

Take a pencil and with the lid open, push down on the switch mounted under that hole. Does it make a "click" when you press on it?

I pushed it down and held it down, then turned on the spin cycle and it staryed to work. But I pushed it down again and it stayed down. I just got it to pop up, but it is not clicking and not working. Did I break it/ Should and how do I replace it?

The switch sounds like it is bad, Get a new switch and we will fill you in on how to change it.
