Washer will not fill, it does spin but no other response. I replaced hoses and inlet valve assembly - no change. I have examined the parts diagrams but cannot decide what to try next. I don't want to replace this machine part by part, just would like to know how to troubleshoot this problem. When switched to wash/fill cycle no agitation, no humming sound, nada, just an amber light indicating wash cycle, same for the other cycles except spin....the drums spins...no water fill. Can anyone offer some good advice, would be much appreciated....thanks.

Check the fuse in the lid switch assembly, probably blown.

Hey richappy, That was it, I should have checked this forum before trying it on my own. Went down to Radio Shack, bought a fuse and problem solved. However, new problem: The seal where the shaft connects to the wash tub is now leaking, pretty bad too. I guess it's because th machine hasn't been run in 2 weeks...but I'm sure it was going to fail anyway. Am I guessing right in my assumption or could the leak be coming from somewhere not so obvious...??? Thank you for your advice, this is a great service and mainly because of people like you.

This is a routine repair covered at www.applianceaid.com for this dependable care washer. I use thick washers to spread the tub springs, then pull the entire tub out, turn upside down and stomp the seal out. You will need a steel rod to punch off the sleave bearing from the tranny shaft using the tranny grouve as a guide. Use non-degergent oil on the bearing. You will need the special spanner wrench to loosten the left hand tub nut, a two hr job for everything.

Hi again, I've ordered these parts: tub seal repair kit tub bearing repair kit spanner wrench drive belts (might as well replace these too) Also, checked the web site, per your advice, and downloaded instructions. I'm kind of anxious to get started and kind of afraid, but I am up for the challenge...will let you know how it turns out. Thank you for your help.
