The outside shell of the washer has become unattached to the body of the washer on the right side (facing machine). When I go to move the washer, the metal casing of the washer moves. It looks like the side needs to be lifted to fit into a track at the bottom, however, I can't find a way to lift the side high enough in order to set it back on the track at the bottom. Is there an easier method to return this side to it's proper position?

This is not a difficult fix, and not expensive but the problem should not have happened. Either you had this machine worked on, and the service tech did not put it back together right, or you purchased this machine used and someone else worked on it and did not get it back together. You are either missing the clip that holds the cabinet on the right side, or it has popped out. When you get the cabinet off look for it, but it may not be there. The part you need is the following. Part Details - WHIRLPOOL Clip, part number: 62780What you need to do is to remove the console, unhook the lid switch, remove the cabinet, reset it, reinstall the clips and then reinstall the console. This video will show you how it is done. It will take some patience to get the cabinet back in right, just be sure and hold it at a 45 degree angle, make certain the front lip is under the front frame and drop it into the slots. It make take several tries. Look at the left side to see how the plastic spline goes in correctly.
