I washed a load of clothes and there was a big puddle of water at the bottem so I scooped it out and selected the drain and spin option to see if that would drain the remaining water and it didnt. So I got the water out and now the washer will not fill with water. Help!

Please post a model number so we can see what machine you have. If this is a front loader you can find tech notes for testing things inside the lower service panel.
