Washer won't go into spin cycle. Replaced the timer, replaced the lid switch. Still no spin.

Can you give us a model number. Also, since you indicate the machine is less than one year old, you should check and see if it is still under manufacturer's warranty. They are usually for one year for parts and labor.

Thanks

Ok, I'll get the model #. We don't use the warranty, we have a 250 unit complex and it's easier to just do our own repairs. This is the second one to develop this problem.

Ok good

I assume this is in a rental unit? That creates all sorts of problems as you know.

Also, you stated this has happened with this type of machine before. What did you do then to correct the problem and why do you not think that correction will work this time?

Thanks

OK. First, the unit is a whirlpool, model #: LTE5243DQ6
And, yeah, it happened before with another unit, but we never figured it out-- we just stored the two.

Ok, good. A couple of questions.

I assume it starts up, goes through a wash cycle and then when it gets to the spin cycle it stops.

1. Does it empty the water?

2. Does the timer stay still or does it advance?

3. If you manually advance the timer will it go into spin cycle and/or empty. If you manually advance the timer will it go into rinse cycle?

4. Does the problem occur with both the spin cycle after the wash and the spin cycle after the rinse?

5. During the spin cycle is the motor running but the basket not spinning, that is can you hear the motor running?

Thanks, these answers should help get to the bottom of your problem.
