How to remove Washing Machine Top Lid?
Model Number: LA9480 Brand: Whirlpool Age: More than 10 years
How can I remove the top lid from my Whirlpool Washing machine to clean it? It's 19 years old and needs to be cleaned, but I can't find directions, pictures etc on how to get the lid off.

If you open the lid, you will see 2 phillips screws that go thru the lid into the hindges. To remove the lid is FAR MORE DIFFICULT than it looks!!!! The little metal Hindge rods are tough to remove( because of their shape) and if you drop 1 into the washer you will HAVE to take it ALL APART to find it!!! Do YOURSELF a favor!!!! Just do the best that you can without removing the lid!!!!!
