Hello, My washing machine fills but will not agitate in wash cycles. It will go through a spin cycle. Even with 4 or 5 towels it still wont wash just spin. Please help!

Take off the front cover and see what is happening with the motor when it supposed to be agitating. If it is not moving the problem may be with the timer.

Thanks for responding! The motor moves and all the pulleys as well . I am wondering if itsin the transmission? When I turn the dial to spin - it engages.

Yes, the transmission would seem to be the problem since the motor is turning and the pulley is turning but it is not agitating. The transmission is not engaging the agitator shaft.

Thanks Sidfink43 - Is there a particular part I should look at (couplar) or do you think the transmission needs to be completely replaced?

On this model the transmission is not really repairable and is replaced as a unit.

Given the cost of the parts and the difficulty of the repair I strongly suggest you think about using the money towards a new machine.
