Model Number: wbvh6240hww Brand: GE Age: 1 - 5 years
My GE front loader washer is shredding the inside rim of the front tub and leaving plastic shavings in every load. It looks like the inside drum is rubbing on it or something. Is this something that can be fixed or is it cheaper to replace the washer at this point?

I don't think I have ever encountered this problem before and am at a loss to tell you what the problem could be.
Given the history and huge problems with this very complex model I think you may well be better off replacing it.
