30 year old washer
Model Number: Imperial Seventy Brand: Whirlpool Age: More than 10 years
Has a click sound as it agitates in wash cycle then a click click spin stop click click spin stop in the spin cycle... Any ideas on what is the cure for this antique? Or is it time for a burial?

Most probably a bad control magnet, a two solenoid item on top of the tranny.Also, could be a broken wire, or a bad spin slide bar, or busted plunger.
To confirm, take back panel off and watch what the item does in each mode, agitate and spin.

I had the panel off last night and the bar at the solenoids would slide back and forth, that was the clicking noise. This morning with a dry tub, it would spin just fine...

Most probably a bad solenoid, I don't even know if it's still available.Enter a model # so we can check. Part # AP3121800
