When filling the washing machine with water, only the hot water comes out, but not the cold water, even though both taps are turned on.

What can I do?

Turn off the water
Remove the hose from the tap
Run water into a pail
Just to make sure you have water there.
Remove the hose from the machine.
Check both ends some sealing washers have filter screens built in.
If OK
Reattach the hose to the tap
Run water into a pail
Just to be sure that you do not have a collapsed hose.
Check the filter screen on the input side of the machines water valve.
If dirty clean it
Do not remove it. It is there to keep crud out of the machine.
Unplug the unit swap the wires from the cold valve to the hot valve and vise versa.
Plug the unit in
Give it a try
Now if you have cold water you know the valve is opening and there is a problem with the electrical. One side is not getting voltage.
If you do not get cold water the cold side of the valve is shot.

Just remember that you swapped the wires so you put them back on the correct valve when you replace it.
