We have a 2005 Kenmore front load washer, model 417.44152400. Lately and on occasion, we've noticed the washer will get to the drain cycle and drain, but not spin the load after it's finished draining. We can hear the motor, stopping and starting continuosly, but nothing appears to happen.

This doesn't happen all of the time. It's almost like we may be overloading it and the motor or circuitry is wearing out perhaps!?! Note: We've loaded it with the same amount of clothes\towels and it never seemed to have an issue spinning.

We are afraid to leave it making this noise in case it burns up or catches fire. So, when it decides to do this, we shut it down and pull the clothes out.

Any advice or assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thanks....

Inside the lower service panel there should be some tech notes that will tell you how to diagnose the machine and test some components. Focus on the speed/motor control board.
