My washing machine will not start, the button just flashes. I entered the code to do a service check and it ran through all the cycles fine. However I can not turn the unit on to run. The start button itself appears to be broke. I have read numerous post about a plastic part behind the panel being broke. How do I replace the button if this is it?

Here is a link to the service manual which should help you through the repair.

My machine just did same thing. Service repair man I talked with said 300 to 400 to replace the board. Or remove or cut out the start button and to enable you to push the button directly on the circuit board. (quick and cheap fix)
