The door latch assy door on my Maytag Neptune will pop open (intermittenly) during the wash cycle. It sounds like the latch assy needs to be replaced, but I don't know if the switch controling the latch should also be replaced. Any ideas.

It is hard to say if the switch is being triggered by the control unit or if it is just defective on its own.

Replace the latch assembly and see if that fixes things, if not then the problem may be in the control unit.
