Washer was over loaded. Now it just hums when started. Water fills ok. Wanted to inspect clutch and breaks. Removing Tran. Removed 3 screws and tried to pull out. Trans won’t move. Only dropped down ½ inch, Then a pin fell out.. Don’t know from where. Was prying around on the break and clutch to remove Trans when the pin fell out. It is about 2-1/2 in. long. Still can’t remove the trans. Kenmore washer 11022956100. Top loading Gear driven.

Before removing tranny, check the pump, might be jammed. If ok, clean the spindle on top, might have a bit of rust and scale, then it should come out. It's rare the shoes totally jam up, just try turning the spin tube by compressing the plastic paw, should turn.
