Washer will fill with water then just sit. No agiate,no spin of drum. I can advance the knob it will then drain water. Is it the lid switch OR the direct drive coupler?? Help

Since it will drain, this means the motor is working so your problem is almost certainly with the coupling. Check it out, change it out, and you should be all set.
