washing machine makes a loud knocking noise only during second spinning cycle and will last untill timer advances or I can move timer slightly forward in spinning cycle and it will no longer make the noise.

If it does not do this in the first spin cycle, then it is hard to understand why it is doing it in the second spin cycle. YOu can check the wiring and the timer, but this is kind of a mystery.

If you need more help please post a full model number.
