Hello, we had about a 5-minute dimming and then finally a quick power outage yesterday morning. Today (Sat.) when I did a load of laundry (GE Hydrowave), everything works except the agitator and spin. I tried the 'unplug, wait 1 min, re-plug, then lift lid up 6 times in 12 seconds' remedy several times.. no good. I have a repairman appointment for Monday afternoon, but hoping there might be some other re-set remedy to try? I do not feel comfortable disassembling it myself. THANKS.

If resetting it didn't work then the problem is likely that the power problem blew the inverter, which means a motor replacement.

Thank you - was afraid of that.
For future purposes - would it make sense to plug the washer into a surge protector? that may sound wierd but can't hurt to ask.

OR..uh... just don't plug it in except when I want to use it?

Damages from surges are rare, although a machine with a circuit board is much more susceptible than one with mechanical controls.

I think you were most likely the victim of just plain bad luck.

The repairman came today, it was the fuse, so thankfully was a quick fix.
