I have the grease streaks on clothes issue. I could minimize that problem by useing a high ration of water to clothes. Today, a new symptom - small grease spots that match up with the drain holes in inner tub. (I do not use softener.) I have searched and read otehr posts. Thanks to the many knowledgeable responders!

I have seen the sugggestion that the transmission may be going. A new unit from sears is under $200. Since the motor and controls seem to be going strong, I am inclined to take that on if the replacement is not too difficult.

Another suggestions was that I need a new spindle seal. I don't see that in the parts list. Would that be gasket part # 383727?

The transmission should be all you need (and if you are going to ask about help here, you ought to buy from here. We who reply are not associated with the parts operations or even with APP so we can make this recommendation independently)

and here is a video that will show you how to take out the old transmission. Check the coupling while you are at it, you might want to replace that also as a preventive maintenance item.

Thanks for hte advice and for the gentleness of your chiding. Makes sensse. I really appreciate the advice I have gotten by searching before asking. I will look at the parts here!
