washer won't change cycles after changing timer

Model Number: 110.26322503 Brand: Kenmore Age: 5 - 10 years

i just ordered a new timer for my washer and changed it out tonight. however, the washer still won't change cycles. any other suggestions?

If you installed the proper timer,

And you're sure the wire harness connector is properly attached, and locked in place on the timer. The problem would be in the motor or the wiring to the motor,
