I believe the latch is broken on the front loading washer. IT will not stay shut. I need to get a part for this and how do you access the back of the latch which is under the rubber gasket without damaging the gasket.

See if you can pull part of the gasket away from the door lock assembly without damaging it. You want to avoid taking off the gasket because it is hard to get back on.
