Clean out the tube going from the water level switch to the tub. If that does not fix things, change out the water level switch.
If you need more info, give us as much detail as you can about the problem.

I have a Frigidaire Gallery washer (2005) that the tranny locked up on. Trashing it. I bought a 2.5 year old Whirlpool to replace it. Works fine, but it only has 2 water settings, small and super. I snatched the water level control out of the Frigidaire. It has multiple levels to choose from. not worried about warranty issues. Would it work in the Whirlpool?

It well could, try it and see. I don't think you can do any harm at the water level switch is just a one way pressure switch
