Had an appliance repair company take a look. Their diagnosis is Door Lock Wax Motor and Machine Control Board are damaged, with an estimate of over $400 to repair. I'd rather buy a new washer than pay so much to repair.

Is any of this under warranty?

Is there an easy way to test the Wax Motor? I can buy a Wax Motor (about $12).

Is there an easy way to inspect/test the Control board?

Do I really need a new Control Board (over $190)? Can it be repaired by a savvy user?
