last week my wife put a lod in the washer it filled, agitated but would not drain. Called repair company. He could not give a real reason stated he would start with a lid switch. he would have to order one take a couple of days if that did not work he would go to the timer. after paying the repairman. I went to appliance parts dist. and purchased lid switch and installed myself. now the washer drains but will not spin. motor just hums and gets hot enough to smell it. it clikcks then shuts off.
should I still look at the timer or is the motor bad. can the motor be bad when it agitates fine
