no agitate, but fills, drains, and spins
Model Number: 110.20922 Brand: Kenmore Age: 5 - 10 years
My washer filled up, but when I went it to check on the load, it smelled of burning electrical, and the machine was still, with a full tub of water and clothes. There was no sound either, adn the timer had not seemed to advance. However, I was able to move the dial to the spin cycle, and it did spin, and drain.

Remove the washer cabinet. Remove the pump and the motor. Turn the coupling on the gear case CCW and see if the agitator is oscillating.
If you are not able to move the coupling or the agitator is not moving then the problem is a bad gear case (aka a transmission). If there is nothing wrong then the problem very likely is a bad motor or its wire harness. Gene.
