I've got a washing machine that fills with water but doesn't tumble or spin the clothes. The ones on the bottom are soaked but the clothes on top are dry. The washer does drain, although the clothes are still dripping wet because they were never spun out. The dial goes through all of the cycles and none have a loud noise or any grinding. It sounds like it should work but it doesn't.

The model number is 417.29042991. The motor isn't the problem because there's no power going to it and the manual suggests checking the thermal cut out switch. Now the problem is that we don't know where the thermal cut out switch is. Thanks for any help you can give.

The first thing I would do is check the door lock and its switches (#8 on the diagram).
