Model Number: WPXH214AOWW Brand: GE Age: 5 - 10 years
I have a GE Profile Washer Model WPXH214AOWW. It is a front loading washer.
I was using it the other day and half way through the wash cycle, it just stopped in the middle of the wash cycle (agitation cycle). When I manually put it to the spin cycle, the drain pump engaged and empties the water. Turning it back to the normal wash cycle, the water fills the tub. I looked at the technician repair sheet and followed through some diagnostics. It asked me to check the voltage on the speed control harness pin 5 and 6 to see if it registers 120V, and if it doesn't, then check the connection on the timer unit or the door lock mechanism. I checked the voltage on pin 5 and 6 of the speed control unit and it shows 0 volts. Now, the question is how can I determine which part may be broken -- the timer unit or the door lock mechanism, causing the voltage to read 0 instead of 120v. It is unclear to me if the speed control harness won't produce 120V on pin 5 and 6 because of a faulty timer unit or door lock mechanism. It seems to me that the timer unit relies on power produced by the speed control. Since I am new to this, I don't know exactly how to read the schematic. The locking mechanism does lock the door when it is in the wash cycle and the door lock light does light up. thanks - J Ads By Google Related Models |
