Default Replacing Dampers
Model Number: LAT8606AAE   Brand: Maytag   Age: 5 - 10 years

Spin cycles (rinse/spin) cause out of balance shutdown even with small loads. repair service noted dampers appear need replacing. 2 questions:
1. sound like this could be the problem
2. how difficult are they to replace (e.g., special tools) -- it would appear that it may be simply a matter of loosing springs, taking off support rods, and drive belt to be able to raise tub/trasmission unit to slide in dampers

Thanks for any help
