Hi, Suddenly my frigidaire affinity model # LAFW3577KW1 won't fill with water of any temp and is making a fairly loud buzzing noize. It had run all afternoon and started this at the beginning of a load. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Brian

Replace the fill valve assembly, the solenoids are no longer functioning appropriately.

OK, I removed and tested the fill valve and I have flow when testing the solenoids individually, powering them with a test cord. The red and green solenoids flow hot and the blue solenoid flows cold. I still don't know if this is correct function, but I did get flow.
Can anyone tell me where to go now?

Thanks,

Brian

After backing up and doing a little more homework, I discovered the buzzing noise was coming from the drain pump. A Google search revealed that others have had a plugged/obstructed pump inlet. One specifically mentioned having bra underwires in the pump more than once. I opened mine up and found - you guessed it - an underwire. After reassembly, it has completed a full wash cycle without a hitch.

Thanks to all who looked or responded.

Hard to diagnose here on these forums. I apologize. I'm glad you got it sorted out!

No apology needed. Sometimes it's hard to wrap your head around it if you can't wrap your hands around it.

Thank you for posting your solution and saving me a service call!

For all in the future that read about a buzzing and water won't pump out of your Frigidaire washer. Simply remove two screws at the base of the washer to remove the cover plate and find the pump.

Use a shop vac to suck out the water from the tub and as you remove the pump hose connections. You might not even have to remove the pump. Just carefully feel for an obstruction on the inlet side.

If this ever happens again it will take me less than 15 minutes to fix.
