Do the pumps on these machines ever just get "tired". The pump is not frozen and will turn on 120 volts either while wired through the timer on the machine or 120V externally applied. It simply seems to not be pumping well enough to empty machine. Both intake and output hoses are clear. The pump starts to get hot (I can touch it but it is obviously hot) after the washer goes through a cycle. I have pulled the pump apart and there is not obstruction nor anything preventing the impeller from spinning. Should I just replace it?

Jim,

Sounds like the pump motor is not good, especially if gets hot. You may want to replace it.

Thank you. I did not know if these small electric motors could go bad without actually seizing or stopping completely.
